The Communications Manager reports to the Executive Director of University Communications. This position is responsible for planning and management of communication projects in University Communications, University Advancement, and on behalf of the University; the direction of editorial content and publications; supervising the editorial team; supporting communications campaigns and initiatives that enact University goals; and ensuring University storytelling and publications adhere to the Chico State brand and narrative.
The CSU requires faculty, staff, and students who are accessing campus facilities to be fully immunized against COVID-19 or have received a medical or religious exemption. Selected candidates should be prepared to comply with this requirement.
Preference may be given to applicants with the following as they may be considered specialized skills:
- Comprehensive knowledge of Chico State writing style, AP Style and Chicago Manual of Style.
- Master's degree in English or Journalism.
- Technical knowledge of online publishing platforms, including HTML coding and content management systems.
Required Education and Experience:
This position requires equivalent to a bachelor's degree from an accredited institution of higher education in communications, journalism, or a related field; and five years directly related professional experience in organizational communications, media, marketing, or public relations.
Time Base: Full-time
Pay Plan: 12/12
Work Schedule: Mon-Fri 8:00am-5:00pm, Summer - Mon-Thurs 7:00-5:30.
Salary and Benefits Information:
Salary commensurate with background and experience of the individual selected. (Anticipated hiring range: $65,000 - $75,000 per year).
This position qualifies for benefits including tuition fee waiver (if eligible).
