The Santa Clara Valley Water District (Valley Water) is seeking an agile, innovative human resources leader who values people over process to serve as their Deputy Administrative Officer of Human Resources.

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE

The next Deputy Administrative Officer of Human Resources will possess outstanding interpersonal and communication skills, a high level of self-awareness and value people over process. The ability to establish, maintain, and foster positive working relationships with all employees, the Board of Directors, bargaining units, and other stakeholders is a must. The individual must be politically astute, open-minded and capable of creating and establishing key partnerships of value to the organization with other public agencies and non-profits. The ideal candidate will be a confident, responsive leader who strives to inspire staff to be solutions-oriented and achieve great things. They will be invested in being an advisor and support system to peers, staff, executive management, and elected officials. Education and Experience:
A Bachelor's degree and six years of increasingly responsible administrative, managerial or professional experience in a field related to the assignment and in the public sector, water or related industry within the most recent ten years, with four of the six years in management/supervisory authority, is expected. A Master's degree is highly desirable.
