Under general direction, the Financial Aid Advisor performs complex Student Services professional work characterized by independent student advisement and guidance in individual and group settings. Using an integrated student service model, the Financial Aid Advisor independently counsels and advises a widely diverse population on complex federal, state, and institutional financial and student-related matters. Responsibilities include program planning and development, overall management and compliance of assigned programs, coordinating with outreach and committee functions, as well as directing the program-related work of the financial aid analysts and student employees.
The CSU requires faculty, staff, and students who are accessing campus facilities to be fully immunized against COVID-19 or have received a medical or religious exemption. Selected candidates should be prepared to comply with this requirement.
Preference may be given to applicants with the following as they may be considered specialized skills:
- Bilingual skills, especially in Spanish, Hmong, and/or Punjabi.
- PeopleSoft Financial Aid experience.
- Work experience in an academic setting, ideally public higher education.
- Experience with outreach presentations to diverse audiences.
Required Education and Experience:
Equivalent to graduation from a four-year college or university in one of the behavioral sciences, public or business administration, or a job-related field.
Three years of full-time professional experience in one of the student services program areas or in a related field; experience should give evidence of competence and indicate the potential for further growth.
A Master's degree in a job-related field may be substituted for one year of the professional experience.
Additional specialized experience which demonstrates the applicant has successfully applied the knowledge and abilities of a Student Services professional may also be substituted for required education on a year-for year basis.

Pay Plan: 12/12
Work Schedule: Mon-Fri 8:00am-5:00pm, Summer - Mon-Thurs 7:00am-5:30pm.
Salary and Benefits Information:
$4,691 - $6,683 per month / $56,292 - $80,196 annually (Initial placement within the salary range for new employees is contingent upon education and experience).
This position qualifies for benefits including tuition fee waiver (if eligible).
