LIBRARY ASSISTANT – P/T
The City of Newport Beach seeks a part-time Library Assistant to join our team! Library Assistants provide a valuable resource to the community by helping them locate materials and information at the service desks. Library Assistants may be assigned to work at any of the four library locations, and can support reference, children's, literacy, cultural arts, and programming.
Application Evaluation: Applications will be accepted on a continuous basis with the first review date on Monday, January 24, 2022 or at 150 applications- whichever occurs first. Applicants who apply after the first review are not guaranteed to be considered for the recruitment.
Online Exam: The most qualified applicants will be invited to take an online exam. Tentatively scheduled for the week of February 1, 2022.
Virtual Interview: Tentatively scheduled for the week of February 7, 2022. Passing applicants will be placed on an eligibility list that may be used to fill future part-time vacancies as they occur.

Experience & Education and License/Certificate
A combination of experience and training that would likely provide the required knowledge and abilities may be qualifying. A typical way to obtain the knowledge and abilities would be:
Experience: No experience is required, but previous library experience preferred.
Education: Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university.
License/Certificate : Possession of, or ability to obtain, an appropriate, valid California driver's license.
