Under the general direction of the AVP of Student Support Programs, incumbent will manage the WellCat Safe Place department, prioritizing the administration and utilization of the prevention education, training, and services related to sexual assault, domestic violence, dating violence, and stalking with the goal of reducing these crimes in our campus community. The incumbent will address departmental, divisional, and campus-wide practices, policies, and procedures that affect individuals impacted by domestic violence, sexual violence, and stalking. The incumbent will counsel, assist, and accompany victims of sexual violence and serve as their advocate. The incumbent will also develop and provide training to students on sexual assault, domestic violence, dating violence, and stalking. The incumbent will be responsible for oversight and supervision of Coordinator of Advocacy Services and student employees.
The CSU requires faculty, staff, and students who are accessing campus facilities to be fully immunized against COVID-19 or have received a medical or religious exemption. Selected candidates should be prepared to comply with this requirement.
Preference may be given to applicants with the following as they may be considered specialized skills:
- Two years supervisory experience.
- California Certification for Domestic Violence Advocates.
Required Education and Experience:
Must possess a certificate as a California Sexual Assault Counselor at the time of the offer,
-AND- one of the following:
* Qualified Psychotherapist under the California Evidence Code 1010 or
* A Master's Degree in Counseling, Social Work, or Psychology or
* One year of counseling experience which includes a minimum of six months rape crisis counseling.
Candidates without one year of counseling experience as noted above may be considered. In this case, candidates must have completed 40 hours of training in one of the areas below:
* Societal attitudes
* Crisis intervention and counseling techniques
* Role playing
* Referral services
(Supervised training will continue until the year of counseling as noted above is met.)

Pay Plan: 12/12
Work Schedule: Mon-Fri 8:00am-5:00pm, Summer - Mon-Thurs 7:00am-5:30pm.
Salary and Benefits Information:
Salary commensurate with education and experience of the individual selected. (Anticipated hiring range: $60,000 - $70,000 per year).

The duties of this position will include participation in a decision that may have a material/financial benefit to the incumbent. Therefore, this is a "designated position" under the California State University's Conflict of Interest Code and the incumbent will be required to file a Form 700: Statement of Economic Interest and is subject to the regulations of the Fair Political Practices Commission. This position is a Higher Education Employer-Employee Relations Act (HEERA) designated managerial position and comes under the Management Personnel Plan (MPP) of the California State University. Individuals appointed to management positions serve at the pleasure of the President or designee. They are excluded from the collective bargaining process, are not subject to probationary service, and do not receive tenure or permanent status. This position is exempt from the overtime provisions of the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA).
Occasional late night, after hours and/or weekend work may be required.
